What is the TBC Shaw Missions Golf Tournament?
It is a captain’s choice format golf tournament co-sponsored by the Trinity Missions Committee and the Recreation Committee. All proceeds will go towards the Shaw Missions Fund. Please read about the Shaw Missions Fund below.
Who can play?
The golf tournament is open to anyone who would like to play golf and support the Shaw Missions Fund. All Trinity members, guests, and community members are welcome. Trinity members are encouraged to invite family and friends to be a part of the golf tournament.
When and where?
The date of the tournament is Monday, May 15, 2017 at Heritage Golf Club. Registration will begin at Noon with the shotgun start at 1:00 pm. (Collared shirts required, metal spikes prohibited)
What is the registration fee?
The individual registration fee is $75, and the team registration fee is $300. The registration fee covers green fee, cart fee, range balls, drinks/snacks, and meal.
What are the special contests?
There will be closest-to-the-pin contests on all Par 3s and one longest drive hole. There will also be a hole-in-one prize package and a raffle for door prizes. Hole in One prize package is a trip for two to Cabo San Lucas.
Can I purchase a Mulligan package?
YES! Each player is eligible to purchase a package that includes 2 mulligans for $20.
Can I Purchase Strokes against another team?
Yes! For every ten dollars you donate above the cost to participate and mulligan purchase you can add 1 stroke to another teams net score. Mulligan package must be purchased to participate in this program. Effects net score only. Has to be purchase before event starts.
What is Hole Sponsorship?
An individual or a business can purchase hole sponsorships starting at $100 each. A sign designating sponsorship will be placed on the tee each hole sponsored. More than one sponsor may be displayed on a hole. Hole sponsorships are tax-deductible. Individuals, and businesses will receive contribution letters from the church.
When can I expect to be finished?
With a shotgun start of 1:00 pm, all play is expected to be completed by 5:30pm. A meal will be served immediately following play. The awards ceremony will follow the meal. The goal is to be finished by 7:00pm.
What is the Trinity Baptist Shaw Missions Fund?
Hugh and Maude Shaw, charter members of Trinity Baptist Church, established the Shaw Missions Fund. This fund provides:
- Scholarships for Trinity Baptist members to participate in mission trips.
- Resources that teams will use on a mission trip: construction materials, travel expenses, and children’s curriculum.
Over the past several years, Trinity adults have gone on mission trips to West Virginia, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Alaska, Cuba, Honduras, Belize, Ukraine, and the Dominican Republic. The Disaster Recovery team has traveled to the North Carolina coast, West Virginia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and to Gulfport Mississippi to help with disaster relief. The Trinity Baptist Student Ministry have taken mission trips to Puerto Rico, Massachusetts, Grifton, Miami, Charleston, and Kentucky in recent past. The Shaw Missions Fund in the year ahead will help establish a new partnership mission with the Republic of Congo. The Mission Steering Committee is responsible for the disbursement of the Shaw Fund.
