September 15, 2007 -- Raleigh, NC: Erastus Kiama won the inaugural Roc n' Run in Raleigh, NC. The 21 year-old Cary runner toured the course through the North Hills section of Raleigh in 17:08. Claton Tillery, 32, of Cummings, GA, was second in 17:25.

Rhoda Maron won the women's race. The 33 year-old Durham resident finished 6th overall in 20:41. Laura Frey, 33, of Raleigh was second in 21:49.

Over 280 racers participated in the first annual event. Participants included children, seniors, moms, dads and grandparents. The 5K main event featured children as young as nine years and seniors of 76 years of age.

The race, which also featured a One-Mile Fun Run and Kid's dash, was staffed by volunteers from Trinity Baptist Church. Proceeds from the race benefited North Raleigh Ministries. North Raleigh Ministries was established to meet the needs of families and individuals with emergency situations who live in North Raleigh.

The Recreation Outreach Center (ROC) is a ministry of Trinity Baptist Church located in the heart of North Hills on Six Forks Road in Raleigh, NC. The ROC is a vital outreach ministry of Trinity Baptist Church which exists to reach out to the community for Christ here in North Raleigh.
